“I love festival time in Edinburgh, especially the exhibitions and craft fairs. I want to bring some of that atmosphere to Musselburgh, and give our local designers an affordable platform to showcase their outstanding work. I’ve challenged them to find new inspirations in old rubbish and as always, their designs easily compete with the best of what’s on offer in the city. From previous markets, I know there is already wonderful appreciation of sustainable design here, and with this event, we hope to encourage more people to consider the value of their purchases, and to shop locally and of course, ethically.”

All profits from sales by Frugal Cool during the weekend, and a collection at the opening party, will be donated to UNICEF (does not include sales by individual vendors).
Loretto Gallery is located at Racecourse end of Musselburgh's High Street, next to Loretto School (and opposite Luca's famous ice cream parlour). Look out for the beautiful pillared entrance, and of course, our signs.

With the Edinburgh festivals in full swing, Frugal Cool will be back at Loretto Gallery with a third showcase of ethical craft and design work by local artists, makers and designers.
Frugal Cool’s Eco Market and Summer Fête will take place at Loretto Gallery, Musselburgh from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 August, 10.30am to 5pm.
All our designers and artists live within 40 miles of Musselburgh. They remake and re-purpose found objects - or use only natural and ethically sourced materials - to create stylish and unique homewares, jewellery, fashion, paper craft, works of art and much more.
